The high-precision SEJ force sensor is an S-beam load cell designed to measure tensile and compressive forces in test benches, automation systems, and metrology laboratories. Its Wheatstone bridge strain gauge technology (350 ohms) and 2 mV/V output signal make it compatible with all standard signal conditioning instruments.

Its key feature is its exceptional accuracy: nonlinearity, hysteresis, and repeatability are all guaranteed to within 0.02% of the measurement range—a precision class significantly higher than that of standard dynamometers. This performance makes it the go-to tool for applications where metrological traceability and measurement repeatability are non-negotiable requirements.

The steel body, treated with a chemical nickel plating coating, ensures corrosion resistance and durability in environments with light splashes. The range includes 12 load capacities from 15 to 3,000 daN, with a permissible overload of 150% and a breaking load of 3,000%. Comes with an ACRN calibration certificate issued in accordance with ISO 17025 methods.

Description

Applications of the SEJ force sensor

The high-precision SEJ force sensor is recommended for all applications requiring traceable and repeatable force measurement:

Bench presses and bench presses
Integration into motorized or manual test frames for continuous measurement of the force applied to the specimen. The S-shape of the SEJ allows for in-line integration along the pull axis, with connection via lifting rings or shackles.

Automated Process Control
Force measurement in assembly presses, crimping systems, crimping machines, or packaging equipment, for real-time monitoring of applied force with alerts for threshold exceedances.

Calibration and Metrology Laboratories
The SEJ is used as a reference sensor for calibrating other force measurement instruments, thanks to its accuracy class of 0.02% FS and its calibration in accordance with ISO 17025.

Aviation and automotive industries
Validation of force-controlled assembly processes, mechanical strength testing of components, and qualification of production machines requiring traceable force measurement.

R&D and Materials Testing
Characterization of the tensile and compressive behavior of materials, fatigue studies, and validation of mechanical models through precise measurement of applied forces.

How do you use the SEJ sensor?

The SEJ connects directly to ACRN measurement consoles (XA, XA-m) via the MICA® connector for automatic recognition and immediate configuration.

It can also be connected to any data acquisition system equipped with a standard strain gauge input (350 ohms, 10 V DC supply, 2 mV/V signal).
For lifting applications, the alloy steel lifting rings (optional) allow for quick connection using shackles. For compression applications, the spherical bearing (optional) ensures point contact, which eliminates the effects of misalignment. Male and female couplers are also available for frame-mounted units.
The 3-meter cable included with the sensor is suitable for most installation setups. A special cable length is available upon request for long-distance installations.
