Compatibility

Jaws & accessories compatible with our test benches

Universal flat jaws

Holds flat samples, rods, and slides in place. A flexible and cost-effective system, compatible with all MDD and Multitest test benches.

V-jaws

Can be used on all manual or motorized benches. Highly versatile, suitable for cylindrical samples (cables, wires, tubes).

Non-slip serrated jaws

Holds smooth or flexible samples in place. The notches prevent slipping and ensure reliable measurement until breakage.

Compression plates

Fit onto the existing system. Hold the sample in place and ensure even distribution of the compressive load.

Textile jaws

Specially designed for flexible samples (fabrics, belts, films). The non-slip strips prevent the sample from being marked.

Calibration Kit

Ensure the metrological traceability of your test bench. Certified standard weights for linearity verification and COFRAC compliance.

Options & Software

Accessories for our test benches

VectorPro Software

User-friendly graphical interface for test programming, real-time monitoring, result export, and the generation of comprehensive reports.

Emperor Software

High-resolution data acquisition, real-time graphical visualization, user management, automatic calculations, and full traceability.

Interface USB / RS232

Connect your test bench to your IT system to automatically export measurements and integrate them into your quality workflows.

Digital extensometer

Precise measurement of sample elongation and deformation. Complete the force measurement to obtain the stress-strain curves.

Thermal printer

Simplify the archiving and tracking of measurements by printing test results instantly after each measurement.

21 CFR Part 11

Compliance with regulatory standards for the pharmaceutical industry. Full traceability, timestamping, and user management.

Applications & Industries

Tensile-Compression Testing Machines : Applications and Industries

Tensile and compression testing is a requirement across many industrial sectors. Whether you need to verify the mechanical strength of an assembly, characterize a new material, or inspect the quality of a weld, our test benches can be adapted to the specific requirements of any production or laboratory environment.

Sector 01

Manufacturing & Mechanical Assembly

In the mechanical engineering industry, tensile and compression tests are used to verify the strength of assemblies, welds, and fasteners. An undersized joint may fail during service ; an oversized joint makes the part heavier and more expensive.

Our test benches enable the measurement of breaking torques, pull-off forces, and compressive strengths over a range of 5 to 2 500 N, with a resolution of one-tenth of a Newton.

In the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, packaging strength is a regulatory requirement. A lid that is not properly sealed compromises the product’s integrity ; a cap that is too difficult to open detracts from the user experience.

Our test benches measure the opening and closing forces of packaging, bag seals, and lids. The Multitest-I meets the traceability requirements set forth in FDA regulation CFR 21 Part 11.

Sector 02

Pharmaceuticals & Cosmetics

Sector 03

Food & Beverage & Packaging

In the food industry, the durability of packaging directly affects food safety. An inadequate seal on the bag can cause leakage ; packaging film that is too fragile will tear when opened.

Our testing machines are designed to measure tear, peel, and weld strength in accordance with ISO 527 and ASTM D638 standards. The acceptability threshold mode alerts operators to any measurement outside the tolerance range, requiring immediate action.

In the automotive and aerospace industries, the mechanical strength of materials is a fundamental safety parameter. An undersized composite material may fail during service ; a fastener that is too weak compromises the integrity of the assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ — Everything you need to know about tensile and compression testing machines

01

What is a pull-and-push bench ?

A tension-compression bench is a testing device used to measure the strength of materials or assemblies under tensile (stretching) and compressive (crushing) forces. It consists of a rigid frame, a drive system (manual or motorized), and a force sensor.

02

What is a pull-and-push bench used for ?

It is used to test the strength, elasticity, and behavior of various materials (plastics, metals, textiles, composites, etc.) or mechanical parts when subjected to mechanical stress. It is used for quality control, R&D, and certification.

03

What types of materials can be tested ?

Tensile-compression testing machines can test a wide range of materials : plastics, metals, textiles, rubber, composites, packaging films, welds, joints, cables, and many others.

04

What is the difference between a tensile test and a compression test ?

A tensile test involves stretching a material until it breaks in order to measure its strength and elongation. The compression test evaluates a material’s strength when subjected to crushing or bending forces.

05

How does a pull-and-push bench work ?

It uses force and displacement sensors. The specimen is clamped between two jaws and then subjected to an increasing force until it reaches its mechanical limits. The force-displacement curve is recorded in real time.

06

What are the benefits of an ACRN pull-and-push bench ?

Our benches are known for their precision, reliability, and durability. Designed to meet the needs of manufacturers and laboratories, they provide fast and reproducible measurements. Distributed by ACRN, Mecmesin testing machines come with dedicated after-sales service and French technical expertise.

07

Which standards can be met ?

The testing machines can be used for tests in accordance with international standards : ISO 527 (plastics), ASTM D638 (tensile strength), ISO 6892 (metals), and ISO 13934 (textiles), depending on the tests performed and the grips used.
