Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our measurement and quality control equipment
What is a torque meter, and what is it used for?
A torque meter (also known as a torque wrench) is a measuring instrument that quantifies the mechanical torque applied during screwing, tightening, or rotation. It expresses the result in newton-meters (N·m). In industrial quality control, it is essential to verify that the tightening torque of a cap, screw, or assembly meets specifications. ACRN offers manual torque wrenches (NBA series) and motorized torque wrenches (RepeaTork) covering ranges from 0.01 to 500 N·m.
Why choose a French manufacturer for your quality control equipment?
Choosing a French manufacturer like ACRN offers several advantages: responsive after-sales service, long-term availability of spare parts, a dedicated French-speaking technical contact, and support for the domestic industry (La French Fab). In addition, ACRN has an in-house design department capable of quickly developing custom solutions. Our equipment is manufactured at our workshop in Buchy (Normandy, 76750).
What is COFRAC calibration, and why is it important?
COFRAC (the French Accreditation Committee) accredits calibration laboratories in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025. COFRAC calibration ensures that your instruments are traceable to national standards with a certified measurement uncertainty. This is a requirement of quality audits in the pharmaceutical (GMP), cosmetics, and food industries. ACRN is one of the few French manufacturers of torque and force measurement instruments to offer this service directly, either in our laboratory or at your facility.
How do you test the seal integrity of packaging (doypack, pouch, bottle)?
ACRN offers several methods to suit your needs: the vacuum chamber (ASTM D3078 standard) for detecting leaks through immersion testing, the CompressPack compression tester for testing the strength of doypack and pouch seals, and seal testers for plastic packaging. For packaging intended for transport at high altitudes or by air, we also comply with ADR P620 and IATA Y96 (ASTM D6653) standards. Contact us for a free audit of your quality control process.
Does ACRN offer custom-made equipment?
Yes. Our in-house engineering department specializes in electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial IT, AI, and instrumentation. We develop custom solutions to address specific process or integration requirements. Every project undergoes a systematic technical review with you prior to development.
