What is Cosmetic Valley?
Cosmetic Valley is a French competitiveness cluster specialized in the cosmetics industry. It brings together companies, research laboratories, educational institutions and public organizations in the sector. The cluster is mainly based in the Centre-Val de Loire region, with members located across France.
It aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the French cosmetics industry by fostering collaboration between companies, research institutes and universities. It supports innovation, research and development, as well as training and employment in the sector.
Cosmetic Valley also organizes events, training programs and collaborative research projects to support the growth of the French cosmetics industry.
Why this membership matters for cosmetic packaging quality control
Cosmetic packaging, bottles, tubes, jars and caps, is subject to strict quality control requirements: leak-tightness, tightening torque, opening resistance. These controls determine how the product holds up on the shelf and the safety of the consumer, particularly for child-resistant closures.
ACRN designs and manufactures measurement equipment in Normandy, France, since 1997, used by several manufacturers in the cosmetics industry for these controls:
- Torque testers for measuring cap tightening torque
- Test benches for child-resistant closures, torque and opening angle
- Leak testers for bottles, tubes and jars
- Cosmetic tube weld testing using the frequency-based method
Joining Cosmetic Valley allows us to engage directly with these manufacturers on their quality control needs and to develop our equipment accordingly.
Membership approved in 2022
Cosmetic Valley’s board of directors met on October 20, 2022 and approved the membership of 30 new members, including ACRN. We are listed under the “Testing & Analysis” category in the members directory.
