Two families of thickness gauges

Analog reading

Analog thickness gauge

Analog thickness gauge

Dial reading, very robust. Six external and internal models, from 0 to 100 mm, with a resolution of 0.005 to 0.05 mm depending on the model.

  • EDial reading
  • EExternal: D110, D2R20, D4R50
  • EInternal: H210, H250, H280

Digital reading

Digital thickness gauge

Digital thickness gauge

Direct reading on the display, with no dial interpretation error. Six external and internal models, from 0 to 120 mm, with a resolution of 0.005 to 0.02 mm depending on the model.

  • EDigital display
  • EFast reading
  • EExternal: K110, C3R30, K4R50-K

Calibration

Calibrating your thickness gauge

To keep measurements reliable, a thickness gauge must be checked periodically with gauge blocks, at a frequency set by your quality system.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ: everything about thickness gauges

01

What is the difference between resolution and maximum error?

Resolution is the smallest difference the instrument displays, for example 0.01 mm. Maximum error is the largest permitted difference between the reading and the true value over the whole range. To check that a model suits your tolerance, look at the maximum error first.

02

Which model should I choose to measure a thickness up to 10 mm?

The D110 (analog) and the K110 (digital) cover 0 to 10 mm with a resolution of 0.005 mm. The D110 has the lowest maximum error in the range: 0.015 mm.

03

Can I measure beyond 50 mm?

For external measurement, the range goes up to 50 mm with the D4R50 and the K4R50-K. Internal models cover ranges up to 120 mm with the G390. For a requirement outside this range, contact us.

04

Does a thickness gauge need calibration?

Yes, at a frequency set by your quality system, often yearly. Calibration checks the instrument’s error at several points of its range using gauge blocks.
