Static torque screwdriver TTH

Range 0.01 to 10 N·m

The TTH miniature static torque screwdriver is a very low-capacity torque sensor designed for the precise measurement of extremely low torques—ranging from 10 mN·m to 1,000 N·m (1 N·m) depending on the model. With a diameter of just 22 mm and a length of 135 to 151 mm, it is the most compact instrument in the ACRN range, suitable for applications where space is limited and the torques being measured are in the millinewton-meter range.

The TTH measures static torque: it measures the residual torque or starting torque applied to the shaft or button being tested, without mechanical triggering. With an accuracy of ±0.5% of full scale, it serves as a benchmark instrument for metrology laboratories, R&D departments, and quality control stations working with precision components.

It is equipped with a ¼-inch square drive or a 3 mm H7 bore, depending on the model, allowing for the use of a wide variety of bits and adapters. When paired with the XA-m console or the AFTI indicator, it offers a comprehensive measurement solution featuring memory, programs, and data export capabilities.

Description

Applications of the TTH static screwdriver

The TTH miniature static torque screwdriver is used in industries where measuring very low torque values is essential:

Watchmaking and Precision Engineering

The TTH static torque screwdriver is used to measure the operating torque of watch mechanisms, watch movements, precision joints, and miniature ball joints. The TTH 0.01 (10 mN·m) series is specifically designed for watchmaking applications where any overload could cause irreparable damage to the components.

Electronics and Components

It is used to measure the starting torque of potentiometers, rotary encoders, micromotors, and miniature switches. The TTH covers the typical measurement ranges for these components, which cannot be accessed using standard torque screwdrivers.

Luxury cosmetics and fragrances

The screwdriver is used to measure the opening and closing torque of precision closure mechanisms on high-end bottles and accessories, where the typical torque values are in the range of a few centinewton-meters.

Medical and Medical Devices

The screwdriver can measure the operating torque of surgical instruments, syringes, and implantable devices that require strict control of tightening and rotational torques.

R&D Metrology Laboratories

Characterization of friction torque, start-up torque, and stop torque in precision mechanisms; repeatability studies on small actuators.

TTH vs. TS: Which static screwdriver should you choose?

The ACRN line offers two static torque screwdrivers designed to meet different needs:

The TTH is a miniature screwdriver designed for very low torque (10 mN·m to 1 N·m). With a diameter of 22 mm and an ultra-compact design, it is ideal for precision metrology applications, miniature electronic components, and watchmaking.

The TS is a medium-capacity screwdriver (0.3 to 10 N·m) equipped with a 3-jaw JACOBS chuck, allowing it to accommodate a variety of screw heads, knobs, and pins. It focuses more on quality control in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical bottling industry.

If you are measuring torques below 1 N·m on precision components, the TTH is the right choice. For torques above 1 N·m or for industrial capping applications, the TS is more suitable.
