The GL is a stainless steel compression load button, strain gauge based and temperature compensated. Very flat (8.13 mm high for a 25.4 mm diameter on the 100 to 500 N capacities), it fits under a cylinder, inside a tool or under a press plate, where a standard load cell will not fit.
Three tapped holes on the underside allow direct mounting on the frame. Non-linearity is ±0.5% FS, repeatability ±0.1% FS, and the sensor withstands an overload of 150% of its capacity with no effect on performance.
It comes with a 2 m shielded cable (4 wires) and delivers a 2 mV/V signal, for direct connection to our XA measurement console. Amplified or digital versions, extended temperature range and fully welded cover are available on request.

Applications of the GL compression force sensor
The GL is designed to measure a compression force in a confined space, as a permanent or temporary installation:
Test benches and tooling
Measurement of the force under a punch, a cylinder or a plate, without changing the kinematics of the bench thanks to its very low height.
Assembly, crimping and press-fit presses
Check of the force applied at each cycle to make sure it stays within the defined tolerance.
Compression tests on components and packaging
Measurement of the compression force on parts, closures or packaging, in the laboratory or at the line.
Load monitoring on machines
Mounted with its three tapped holes, the sensor stays in place and follows the force during production.
GL, FJ or SEJ: which sensor should you choose?
GL: flat compression sensor with three tapped mounting holes, IP64 protection, temperature compensated from -15 to 70 °C. Total error ±0.8% FS. The right choice for standard integration in the workshop or the laboratory.
FJ: miniature compression cell with 0.25% FS linearity and hysteresis and an operating range from -54 to +121 °C. Preferred for higher accuracy or extreme temperatures.
SEJ: S-type cell for tension and compression, with the best accuracy of the range. Recommended for metrology benches.
