What is an industrial force sensor?<\/h2>\n

A force sensor, also known as a load cell or strain gauge depending on the technology used, is a transducer that converts mechanical force into a measurable electrical signal. The signal is then processed by a console or controller to display, store, or export the value in Newtons (N) or kilogram-force (kgf).<\/p>\n

There are several types of sensors, depending on their application: S-shaped load cells for tension and compression, button-type load cells for insertion testing, load cell bridges for weighing benches, and static torque sensors for in-line screwdriving control. ACRN offers all of these technologies in sizes ranging from a few grams to several tons.<\/p>\n

The choice depends on several factors: the range of force or torque to be measured, the type of load (tension, compression, static torque), the data acquisition rate, the need for traceability, and the desired level of automation.<\/p>\n
